Hello... I'm Lance Como. For the past 34 years I been in the graphic arts and for the past 28 I've run my own business — Como Consortium Ltd.
Back in 1970, I took some time off to travel in a converted 1966 Bluebird school bus where I ended up in Delray Beach Florida. There I took a job working at a small marina called Marlinspike. It was at that marina where I got introduced to boating.
I spent 6 months there working on a variety of boats where I began by pressure washing, scrapping barnacles, replacing artificial keels, bottom painting and eventually replacing planks, etc.
Since then I completely restored a 1960 Owens Sea Skiff Express Cruiser, a 1961 50' Chris-Craft Constellation Flush Deck (which I lived on for 5 years), a 1973 Aquarius A23 trailerable sailboat and have recently purchased a 1966 Columbia C26 MK I. All of these great boats have required a fair amount of work — from replacing chines and planks to recoring decks and completely rewiring 12 and 100 volt electrical systems.
I have tried to document my work and through various on-line groups have shared my experiences with instructions on how I accomplished those tasks. Now, instead of repeating my stories over and over again to those groups, I've decided to build a website where I can share my knowledge without having to send out hundreds of e-mails.
I sincerely hope my fellow boaters appreciate what I am doing and hope they will share their experiences with me. In addition, I am working with various manufactures of products I've used over the years and am offering them to my fellow boaters at a resonable cost.
I appreciate the input I'm getting from my groups and encourage others to add their insight to my website by contacting me via e-mail... thanks for visiting and let me know if you have suggestions on how to improve it for others. email@example.com
